We are thrilled to announce that HISTORA’s Co-Founder and CTO, Matías Molinas, has been accepted to participate in "Built with Claude: Life Sciences", a global virtual hackathon running from July 7th to 13th, 2026.

Organized in partnership with the prestigious Gladstone Institutes (an independent, state-of-the-art biomedical research organization affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco), this hackathon brings together elite engineers, researchers, and AI innovators to build cutting-edge solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences.

Connecting AI with Life Sciences: The Vision Behind the Code

Dentistry is fundamentally a branch of life sciences. At HISTORA, we often say that clinical data is created in isolation and locked inside disconnected systems. Our mission is to build the trusted clinical data infrastructure that connects, structures, and activates this clinical data across systems.

By participating in this hackathon, Matías is exploring the frontiers of agentic AI applied to complex biological structures. The hackathon project, titled "Cross-species Samosa", leverages specialized AI environments ("Claude Science") to analyze shared embeddings of 5,672 cell types across 138 species.

By training models to map and interoperate these highly complex multi-species cellular profiles, we are testing the underlying frameworks that will one day power the lifelong dental digital twin.

Why This Matters for the Future of Dentistry

To make a living, continuously evolving digital representation of a patient's oral health possible, we must be able to ingest, standardize, and reason over multi-modal data. This includes not just 2D/3D images (such as CBCT scans and STL files) but also complex biological markers, histology, and longitudinal health records.

Matías’ participation in this elite circle allows HISTORA to:

  1. Advance Multimodal Clinical Intelligence: Test how next-generation AI agents handle incredibly dense biological data, which is directly applicable to dental histology and tissue analysis.
  2. Explore Agentic Workflows: Refine background agents that can autonomously organize, benchmark, and review clinical research data—reducing the cognitive load on healthcare professionals.
  3. Build Interoperable Frameworks: Shape technologies capable of translating data between disconnected medical and clinical systems safely and at scale.

Pioneering the Infrastructure of Tomorrow

"The future of clinical dentistry lies in its connection to systemic health," says Matías Molinas. "Participating in this hackathon with Gladstone Institutes allows us to pressure-test our data-structuring paradigms against some of the most complex biological datasets in the world. What we learn here will directly impact how we architect HISTORA as the foundational clinical data infrastructure for dentistry."

We wish Matías and all participants the best of luck during this intensive week of hacking! Stay tuned for updates as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible at the intersection of dentistry, life sciences, and agentic artificial intelligence.

Keep an eye on our blog and LinkedIn for a full debrief of the hackathon outcomes and technical insights.
